Sampling and preparation method of metal multi-element analyzer for testing steel

In the steel laboratory, there are different kinds of sampling and sample preparation methods. Now we will introduce the steel sampling and sample preparation methods when testing the steel with a metal multi-element analyzer :

I. Metal multi-element analyzer

The sampling method used shall ensure that the analysis sample can represent the average chemical composition of the melt or sampled product.

The analysis sample should have good uniformity in terms of chemical composition, and its non-uniformity should not cause significant deviations in the analysis. However, for melt sampling, there may be deviations in both the analytical method and the analytical sample, and this deviation will be expressed in terms of the reproducibility of the analytical method.

The analysis sample should be removed from the surface coating, dehumidification, dust removal and other forms of contamination.

Analyze the specimens as far as possible from pores, cracks, looseness, burrs, folds, or other surface defects.

When sampling the melt, measures should be taken if uneven or possible contamination of the sample is predicted.


Second, the metal multi-element analyzer for steel sampling and identification of steel

The analysis sample shall be marked so that the melt from which the sampled product is taken can be identified. If necessary, record the sample processing conditions of the melt and the location of the original sample or analysis sample taken from the sampled product.

Analytical samples of pig iron shall be identified so that the delivery lot or part of the delivery lot and the samples taken from the delivery lot can be identified.

Third, the metal multi- element analyzer for steel sampling and storage of steel samples

Appropriate storage equipment should be provided for the separate storage of analytical samples. During and after the preparation of the analytical sample, the analytical sample shall be protected from contamination and chemical changes.

The original sample is allowed to be stored in a block form, and an analysis sample is prepared when necessary.

Analytical samples or lumpy original samples should be kept long enough to ensure the integrity of the analytical laboratory management.
